Wednesday August 25th, 2010 04:20 Beauty on a Budget: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter
When the wind starts to blow again,
and light sweaters welcome there way back into your daily wear …
Well, I love it! I love autumn. I love sweaters.
My skin, however does not.
This little gem of a product totally fixes all my dry skin needs.
And it smells amazing. I mean of course it does.
I only like things that smell amazing …
like here, and here, and oh yeah — here.
Oh sorry, distractions. Where was I?
So, it smells like — get this — chocolate. Yummmmmm.
Yummmmmm-mmmy.
I for one buy this at Walgreen’s, via my sis & her employee discount.
But you can get it here.

Tuesday July 6th, 2010 04:21 Beauty on a Budget: Lavender & Eucalyptus Laundry Detergent
Fashionistas are always discussing the latest label,
the latest trend, the latest color, the latest cut.
I know I have often been seduced by a high-priced piece;
only to have it fall apart, fade or rip upon the first wash.
Not with this product. Not only is the line environmentally responsible, but it smells delicious — like lavender; it is hyperallergenic, delicate and fabulous. Since it is my goal {partly due to this economy} to only buy clothing that makes me feel fabulous … I figure I may as well take good care of it.

Tuesday June 8th, 2010 03:15 Beauty on a Budget: ‘Vegas Strip’ Bronzer
Welcome to my first budget beauty post
that has nothing to do with something smelling good.
This is a bronzer, an eyeshadow & an blush in ONE …
And it is amazing; total Physican’s Formula gold.
You know how most bronzer turn orange & fake looking?
Well, this stuff is soft, beautiful
and brightens up the most exhausted/hungover face.
I got this lovely from CVS at a sale price of $7.99,
but even at the full $13.99 — I would buy it.
It is so light and natural,
I even brush it on my neckbone & shoulders when going sleeveless.
Plus, I mean it is named after Vegas …
my favorite city in the USA {after NYC, of course!}.

Thursday May 27th, 2010 08:58 Beauty on a Budget: ‘Time to Spa’ Elemis Shower Gel {Nantucket Edition}
This was the free shower gel in my cottage bathroom.
It smells like a mixture of chamomile and mint.
And, if you follow my blog at all,
you must be catching on that smells matter in Caroland.
This smell is intoxicating. And utterly relaxing.
The only regret I have about my vacation,
was that I only ‘borrowed’ one little bottle of this baby to bring home.
Trust me. Order it here.
I can’t wait to try the other varieties.

Wednesday April 28th, 2010 04:23 Beauty on a Budget: Acqua di Parma Lotion
Now. First, this stuff smells AMAZING.
It smells like the most perfect spring day,
in the most perfect, fully-bloomed and groomed garden.
But in the interest of honesty and fair play,
this is in fact not really a true ‘budget’ item at first look.

––––
HOWEVER …
even though this costs a little too much to be considered a true bargain,
it moisturizes well — and you only have to use a little.
BUT the main reason why I made an exception
and placed this lotion in this category is because …
IT LASTS ALL DAY LONG.
Not kidding. I will put this on in the a.m.,
commute to NYC, run around the office, sweat, stress,
rush about, commute home {via 2 trains & 2 million people},
and still smell Irises on my arms.
PLUS: I have acutally had people stop, smell me,
and exclaim ‘you smell delicious!’
I really wanted the perfume,
but even my nose couldn’t validate that cost.

And it is cheap.
Dear friends, try it.
